Tagged out in Georgia on this nice north Georgia buck that flanked me by surprise. Thankfully I was able to get my gun around and harvest him.
The 4+ year story of this buck I call “car-jacker” (I’ll explain later why I call him this) came to a close. This buck showed up on camera in ‘16 and I thought he looked odd. After the past four seasons his tines never really grew but his mass did. I had one daylight photo during season last January but never saw this deer on the hoof. He slipped up at 8:53 am on Nov 21. Come to find out, his leg has been broken and he’s essentially been dragging it since it broke. I have to believe it ultimately affected his antler growth.
