Baiting Bill Approved In Georgia For 2018-2019

By Nathan Unger

On Wednesday, deer baiting in Georgia’s Northern Zone became legal for the 2018-2019 season. This decision came months after Gov., Nathan Deal issued an Executive Order for Georgia Department of Natural Resources to make a decision on moving the line that separates the Southern Zone and Northern Zone.

That’s exactly what happened on Wednesday as Georgia’s DNR voted in favor of the governor’s order. The Southern Zone, which has been allowed to bait since 2011, will now be moved but will not include the Chattahoochee National Forest.

Bottom Line: Baiting is allowed for Georgia hunters on all private lands outside of the Chattahoochee National Forest.
